Borehole deepening

Deepening an existing borehole when the current depth no longer meets the way the property uses water.

Water discharging from a borehole during deepening work.

What this service covers

Borehole deepening continues an existing hole rather than starting a new one. It can be considered when a borehole has silted up, the water level has dropped, or the original depth is no longer practical for the pumps and the demand on the site. Whether deepening is suitable depends on the borehole construction, the casing, the geology and access for the rig. Deepening does not guarantee that more water will be found, and we do not promise a new depth or yield before the borehole has been assessed. Tell us the location, the age of the borehole if you know it, and how the water is used. We will discuss the options and quote before any work is scheduled.

Typical information we ask for

  • Where the existing borehole is and how a rig can reach it.
  • Anything you know about its depth, casing, age and current pump.
  • How the water is used now, and what has changed.
  • Permission to work on the property.

An existing borehole cannot always be deepened safely. We will not promise additional water or a specific new depth.

How an enquiry proceeds

  1. 1. Send an enquiry. Share your name, location, the service you need and a short description of the project.
  2. 2. We review the request. The team reads the details and contacts you if more information is needed.
  3. 3. Site discussion. Where the work requires it, we arrange a conversation or a visit to understand access and conditions.
  4. 4. Quotation. You receive a quotation for the agreed scope. Nothing is scheduled until you accept it.
  5. 5. Work is scheduled. After acceptance, we agree a practical time to carry out the drilling, survey or installation.
