Borehole flushing

Flushing and cleaning a borehole to remove sediment, drilling mud or debris that is affecting the supply.

Water flushing from borehole pipework.

What this service covers

Borehole flushing clears sediment, drilling residue or loose material from an existing borehole so the supply can be assessed more clearly. It is often discussed after drilling, after a period of disuse, or when a borehole is producing dirty water or a reduced flow. The method depends on the borehole, the pump and what is blocking it. Flushing can improve how the borehole performs, but it does not guarantee a particular volume of water and it does not repair every cause of a weak supply. Share the location and what you have noticed, and we will explain whether flushing is a sensible next step before quoting for the work.

Typical information we ask for

  • The borehole location and how the team can reach it.
  • What you have noticed: dirty water, sand, a weak flow, or a borehole that has not been used.
  • Details of any pump or pipework already installed.
  • Permission to work on the property.

Flushing addresses material in the borehole. It is not a guarantee of yield, and some problems need a different repair.

How an enquiry proceeds

  1. 1. Send an enquiry. Share your name, location, the service you need and a short description of the project.
  2. 2. We review the request. The team reads the details and contacts you if more information is needed.
  3. 3. Site discussion. Where the work requires it, we arrange a conversation or a visit to understand access and conditions.
  4. 4. Quotation. You receive a quotation for the agreed scope. Nothing is scheduled until you accept it.
  5. 5. Work is scheduled. After acceptance, we agree a practical time to carry out the drilling, survey or installation.
